Youth

Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. 1 Timothy 4:12

Wednesday night for youth group aged kids (10-18) is fun, fast paced, and full of growth and learning. The doors are open at 6 for the weightroom, basketball, volleyball, and other games. At seven class starts, usually with a game. The students grab their snacks and have a lesson. We often split up into small groups. Wednesday night youth group is about making friends and learning about the bible.
Sunday school with the youth group usually consists of a small group discussion relating to the sermon series that Brad is preaching on. We discuss how to apply what Brad has been teaching about to our own lives.  The Sunday school class ends a little bit earlier than the other Sunday school classes in order to allow the youth to serve, bringing the breakfast and coffee supplies over to the sanctuary building.
Core groups typically meet on Sunday nights, unless there is a prayer walk or another church activity. Core is designed as a smaller, more personal group. It starts at 5:30, but typically students arrive early to play basketball, or other games. Brad and Sam share teaching responsibilities where the students have a short class discussion then divide into  groups where the students go over the prepared questions with their adult volunteer.
